Michele Bachmann on Thursday was heckled by a gay robot during a campaign stop in heavily Democratic Iowa City, the Iowa City Patch reported. The man dressed in a robot suit shouted Bachmann down during her rapid 20-minute campaign stop at Hamburg Inn No. 2. “I am a gay robot. I oppose Bachmann’s position on gays, whether they are human or robot,” said the man, who declined to give his name but conceded he was the same robot who heckled Bill Clinton at the University of Iowa in 2007. The gay robot was booed and quickly asked to leave the popular diner where about 100 people had come to see the GOP candidate. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.) A group of about 15 Occupy Iowa City protesters also heckled Bachmann over gay rights. “Michele Bachmann will fix the economy by laying off workers and cutting their pay,” they shouted. “Michele Bachmann fights proudly for marriage unless the couple happens to be gay. You’re not wanted here. You’re not wanted here so go, just go.” Bachmann did not speak to the crowd nor comment to the media.Michele Bachmann Heckled By ‘Gay Robot’

Prop 8 Lawyer Admits: No Harm to Straight Couples (by AmericanEqualRights)
Here’s the Prop 8 proponents’ lead counsel, Charles Cooper, at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on December 8th, admitting that marriage equality wouldn’t harm any heterosexual marriages
The appellate court judges are not buying any of this. Also… wow… they know how flimsy their arguments are and yet they keep making them. Fools.

Jesus Responds to Rick Perry’s “Strong” Ad from DC Pierson
I love this response video!

I debated whether or not to post this, but I think its important that people see the hateful messages being shared by a candidate for President.
Rick Perry seems to have forgotten that when you are president you represent all Americans, including those who are gay, non-Christian, and non-white. This extreme, blatant hatred and intolerance is dangerous for our country. God help us if this man gets anywhere near national office.

The We Do Campaign - Ashville, NC
A wonderfully courageous action and I really feel for couples and the woman at the Clerk’s office because she, clearly, was in agreement with the couples.
An active duty soldier @areyousurprised has been slowly contemplating coming out through a series of faceless Youtube videos. His videos of army life went viral, which has brought attention to his coming out videos.
Tonight, with the end of DADT, @areyousurprised came out to his father in Alabama via phone from his base in Berlin. For the first time he shows his face in the video. Everyone should watch this. Its a wonderful testament to the power of coming out and to the strength of those that have been serving in silence under DADT.
What a wonderful way to start the day!
Lesbian KY Intensive Jelly Ad [Procrastinate on This @ Fierce and Nerdy]
I like what FnN has to say about this. I hate these commercials, but its nice to see a lesbian couple featured. Wonder when we will see a male couple…

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) getting Focus on the Family’s Thomas Minnery to admit, at the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), that children of same-sex couples are at a disadvantage because their parents don’t have the same financial benefits as children of married couples. (Thanks to Think Progress and Mombian for posting.)

HAPPY FRIDAY!
Support George! Fight back at http://bit.ly/dontsaygay
George Takei takes on the Tennessee Legislature and its “Don’t Say Gay” bill, in the way only George Takei can!
A bill now pending in Tennessee would prohibit teachers in that state from discussing homosexuality in the classroom. The so-called “don’t say gay” law is premised on the misguided belief that, by not talking about gay people, they can simply make us disappear.
George is here to tell Tennessee, and all the LGBT youth and teachers who would be affected by this law, that he is here for you. In fact, he is lending his name to the cause. Any time you need to say the word “gay,” you can simply say “Takei.”
You can buy T-shirts and other items that say “It’s OK to be Takei”, to wear and display with pride and to show Tennessee and the world that you’re against censorship and bigotry….
All the proceeds from the sales of these items will be donated to charity. Have a TAKEI old time!
