Where were you when Ellen came out?
Hey Lovely Followers!!!
Got to thinking about the Ellen coming out episode yesterday and it made me curious how others perceive and relate to it, especially if they were very young when it aired in 1997. Ellen today is not the Ellen that did this show and toured as a stand-up comic. I was a junior in college and we all gathered together to watch in the dorm living room. Some people cheered and some cried. It was the first time we had seen a positive depiction of lesbian main character on television. In short, it was huge for my small corner of the world.
So followers and friends, my inquiring mind wants to know -
where you were when Ellen came out?
or how old where you and do you remember any about the media frenzy that followed?
